Scott Arn spent his childhood in Las Vegas, Nevada, learning from shows on Food Network and burning meals in his parent's kitchen. After college, he got his first job in a professional kitchen back in Las Vegas, starting as a line cook at Todd English's Olives at the Bellagio. Not long after, he cooked at several restaurants in Reno before landing at Centro, where he worked his way up to sous chef. Arn then enrolled in a culinary masters program in Spain. He worked at Alkimia in Barcelona, learning how to cook over a wood fire from Chef Jordi Vilà, before moving to San Sebastián to work at Mugaritz, where he spent the next few years experimenting with innovative techniques while immersed in Basque culture. In 2017, he moved back to Reno and became the executive chef of Von Bismarck. Over the next four years, he learned to lead a team and build a menu while drawing on German and Spanish culinary traditions. In 2023, Arn returned to Las Vegas and joined the team at Esther's Kitchen as a sous chef.
Ramtin Yashar moved to Los Angeles, California from Iran with his family when he was just five years old. After graduating from high school, Yashar got a job at Joey in Woodland Hills. At the chain restaurant's Los Angeles location, he worked as a dishwasher, line cook, and manager and quickly realized he had a passion for cooking and hospitality. In 2016, after a challenging stage, Yashar joined Rising Stars alum Ludo Lefebvre's Petit Trois, climbing through the ranks to take over as the chef de cuisine. When the pandemic hit, Yashar spent time as the executive chef of Wife and the Somm before moving to Las Vegas. He was hired as a sous chef at Esther's Kitchen and helped Chef James Trees develop his next concept, Bar Boheme.
In 2024, Arn and Yashar, who developed a close friendship while working together at Esther's, decided to strike out on their own. The two chefs opened their sandwich shop, Golden Boy Market & Deli, in July 2025. There, Arn and Yashar build sandwiches that emphasize bold, personal, but still crowd-pleasing flavors. They are dedicated to their community and eager to build relationships with locals and regulars, something they felt was missing during their time in lauded, high-caliber kitchens.
