Alex White grew up with a century-old sourdough starter. It started in his family with his great-great-grandfather in 1897, and this meant lots of sourdough growing up: from pancakes to biscuits to bread. When he left for school, Alex received his own jar of the family starter. His culinary journey began in college, hosting pizza parties at his apartment and scouring libraries for sourdough bread baking advice. He attended the University of Nevada, Las Vegas for film, and spent time working as a camera operator before his baking hobby turned professional.
Cameron White, Alex's brother, also studied film at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas. He worked in the film and television industry for 15 years before entering the pizza world. Around 2016, he and Alex started having half-serious conversations about turning their pizzas into a business. When the pandemic hit, Cameron was out of work, and that's when those conversations became a reality.
Dani White met Cameron and Alex in college, before graduating to work in film production and, later, doing events with the city's Parks and Recreation department. Alex and Dani reconnected when Alex invited her to one of his pizza parties, and the two started dating. By the time the pandemic hit, she had already transitioned from helping him with orders to running the operations side of the business.
After some time taking orders through Instagram and working out of Alex's backyard, Yukon Pizza joined the Vegas Test Kitchen, a food hall for pop-ups. In 2022, Yukon Pizza opened a brick-and-mortar in Downtown, where Alex, Cameron, and Dani work closely with local charities while serving comforting classics. They offer free cheese slices with a SNAP or WIC card; work with Caridad for water and food drop‑offs, resource drives, and quarterly fundraiser pies; and strive to eventually make Yukon Pizza an employee-owned co-op.
