Marie Artale

Patron Saint Cafe + Bar | Cleveland, OH

July 2025

Marie Artale always knew she was destined for a life in hospitality. She went to Cornell University for it, but even before that, growing up in Cleveland, her earliest memories are of days spent cooking and entertaining with family and friends. After Artale graduated from college in 2015, she started a job at foodservice supply company Singer M. Tucker, where she stayed for a year and a half before switching gears to work at Cedar Lakes Estates in Port Jervis, New York. Over her four years at the estate and hotel, Artale learned the importance of building and managing a team for a successful business. Through her leadership, she built out the concierge and housekeeping teams from scratch and developed new branding and construction projects. Though she could’ve imagined herself at Cedar Lakes forever, homesickness brought her back to Ohio in 2020. She began looking for spaces for a concept she started to build during her last year at the estate.

Artale found Patron Saint Cafe + Bar’s Ohio City location in 2021 while working part-time at Rising Stars alum Adam Lambert's Ohio City Provisions. When she opened the all-day cafe in the summer of 2023, Artale knew it was destined to fill a one-stop-shop sort of niche—a place where anyone and everyone can break bread early in the morning or late into the evening. With an approachable, seasonal menu, 12-hour service, and all-day coffee program, Artale is, above all, trying to create an earnestly Cleveland rendezvous accessible to people from all walks of life.
