Luke Walker

Walker Brothers Beverage Co. | Nashville TN

July 2026

Luke Walker was drawn into the food and beverage industry after college, when a drastic shift in his diet finally relieved his symptoms of bad acid reflux. He moved to Nashville, Tennessee, where his brother, Sam Walker, was working as a drummer and a sales manager for a local craft brewery. Luke worked in the kitchen at The Wild Cow before joining the team at Lynne Lorraine's, a restaurant and juice bar. Over time, Luke and his brother realized that craft beer didn't agree with them. To ease the discomfort, they started drinking kombucha. This quick fix soon turned into a true passion. Using a scoby gifted to them by their aunt, they started brewing their own kombucha at home.

As their product improved, Luke and Sam secured an LLC in 2017. By 2019, the two had found a permanent production facility and launched their business, Walker Brothers Beverage Co. When the pandemic hit soon after, they pivoted to farmers markets, delivery, and direct-to-consumer shipping, which gave them an opportunity to build a loyal following and expand their customer base. At the same time, Luke continued to refine his technique and ability as a kombucha brewer, relying on information from craft brewers, books, online publications, and wine labs to guide his education and growth.

Now, with distribution in over 12 states and an expanded product line that includes both hard and non-alcoholic kombuchas, as well as a line of botanical sodas called Forest Water, Luke has zeroed in on kombuchas that are as flavorful as they are gut healthy. Luke, Sam, who manages sales and distribution, and their business partner, Caroline Howard, who oversees strategy and operations, are committed to the local community that has supported them along the way. This includes plans to open a taproom in East Nashville this summer.
