Announcing Murcia Al Vino PDO Recipe Contest Winners

How do you take a delicious cheese like Murcia al Vino PDO and make it even better? Put it in the hands of great chefs and let them go wild.


This summer, StarChefs partnered with Foods from Spain and Murcia al Vino PDO Cheese to send one lucky chef on a four-day trip to Murcia, Spain. The grand-prize winner is the ever-clever Chef Masako Morishita of Maxwell Park, who took this Spanish goat cheese to new lengths in her Murcia al Vino Tsukune Meatball with Shiso, Teriyaki Sauce, Egg Yolk, and Chives.

A big congratulations to Masako and the two runners up, whose outstanding recipes will not be leaving them empty handed: Chef Marcel Vigneron's Macaroni and Cheese with Murcia al Vino Cheese PDO, Thyme, Serrano, Panko Breadcrumbs, Espelette, and Chives and Chef Annie Pettry's Murcia al Vino PDO Cheese Tart with Roasted Shallots, Figs, Arugula, and Wildflower Honey.
