Lest she leave her reader thirsty, DeGroff includes recipes for favorite and famous drinks, as well as tales from behind the bar and occasional odd remembrances. Yield: 1 Cocktail
INGREDIENTS: 1½ ounces bourbon whiskey 1 ounce crème de menthe ¾ ounce white crème de cacao 3 sprays of absinthe 1 lemon twist
METHOD: Combine the bourbon, crème de menthe, white crème de cacao, and ice in a glass mixer and stir. Rinse a rocks glass with absinthe and add a 2-inch square ice cube. Strain the cocktail into the glass and garnish with a lemon twist. | |
