The Hollywood Cookbook Wins Gourmand Best In World Cookbook Award

The Hollywood Cookbook, Cooking for Causes by Jackie Zabel and Morgan Most won the prestigious honor of "Best in the World" in the "Fundraising" category at the 2008 Gourmand World Cookbook Awards. Winners of the international competition were announced at the Awards gala at the Olympia Theater in London last month. Over 44 countries were represented at the event, which was held in conjunction with the London Book Fair. The Gourmand World Cookbook Awards were founded in 1995 by Edouard Cointreau to honor those who cook with words and to increase knowledge of, and respect for, food and wine culture, which promotes peace.

Author Jackie Zabel traveled 6,000 miles to London to attend the awards. "The Gourmand Awards are like the cookbook Olympics and we were very proud to represent the United States. A love of all things culinary is our common language and to attend this ceremony is to appreciate all the amazing international flavors and incredible cooking talent from around the globe. We are grateful for this honor and to the celebrities, charities, sponsors, and creative team that helped us to bring The Hollywood Cookbook to life for the world to enjoy," stated Jackie Zabel.

The Hollywood Cookbook, Cooking for Causes celebrates the art of formal and casual entertaining "Hollywood" style. The elegant, hard cover book features flavorful and imaginative party menus from an ensemble cast of today's leading celebrities, plus delectable recipes from six beloved chefs of the gourmet world. Passionate about entertaining and compassionate about the needs of a changing world, each of the celebrities has graciously contributed original recipes to the book in the name of a charity close to his or her heart, with creations ranging from zesty appetizers to decadent desserts.
