Mixologist Paul Gustings of Tujague's - Biography
New Orleans, LA
When you’re head barman at a New Orleans bar and restaurant that actually predates the name “New Orleans,” you’re probably packing a lot of street cred. This is true of Paul Gustings, talented bartender and insistently down-to-earth fixture of the Nola bar scene. Beginning his career in 1980 at Dream Palace nightclub, Gustings has experienced the many fluctuations and metamorphoses of the industry. Jobs at the now closed Funky Butt and the Napoleon House furthered Gustings' on-the-job training, which now has an esteemed outpost at Tujague’s. On his nights off, you can find Gustings drinking nothing (or a Bud Light), and on work nights you’ll find him behind the bar, not taking anything too seriously (except the quality of his drinks, that is).
