Chef Jennifer Jasinski of Crafted Concepts - Biography

Denver, CO

September 2017

Jennifer Jasinski has always been an overachiever. Her culinary education was twofold, with Jasinski earning degrees from both Santa Barbara City College and The Culinary Institute of America. She apprenticed at New York’s iconic Rainbow Room while in school. Early on in her career, she had a fortuitous meeting with Wolfgang Puck in which she had the guts to ask for what she wanted—a job.

During the next 10 years, Jasinski traveled the country opening restaurants, creating menus, and training and managing staff for a number of Puck spots including Postrio, Spago, and Granita. In 2000, Jasinski decided to trade sea-level life for high-altitude living, settling down in Denver, where she became executive chef of Panzano, to much notoriety.

Since her arrival in the Mile High City, Jasinski has helped transform the culinary landscape. Her Crafted Concepts restaurant group, which she runs with her business partner Beth Gruitch, now includes Rioja, Bistro Vendôme, Euclid Hall, Stoic & Genuine, and Ultreia. In 2013, Jasinski was the first Denver chef to take home the James Beard Award for “Best Chef, Southwest,” and in 2016, she was a semi-finalist for “Outstanding Chef.”
