Chef David Guas of Bayou Bakery - Biography

Louisiana native David Guas is the proprietor of two Bayou Bakery outposts in Arlington, Virginia, and on Capital Hill in Washington, D.C (forthcoming 2015). The New Orleans-style gathering spots are bound by a common purpose: fiercely guarding the culinary culture of NoLa. Guas has made frequent appearances on "The Today Show" and on the Travel Channel’s "American Grilled." Guas’s desserts and Louisiana favorites have been featured in Food & Wine, Southern Living, Garden&Gun, Saveur and Bon Appétit. Bayou Bakery was ranked one of the top three bakeries by Washingtonian readers, and in 2004 Guas was named the Restaurant Association of Metropolitan Washington’s Pastry Chef of the Year. Outside the kitchen, he enjoys hunting, fishing, and riding his Harley.
