Chef Christian Ragano's recent move to the Grand Hyatt New York isn’t just a professional achievement, it’s a homecoming. The Queens, New York, native spent more than 10 years working at some of the best Chicago restaurants, including a stint at Tru, before his nine-year tenure working his way through the ranks of NoMI at the Park Hyatt Chicago. With almost two decades racking up experience in Chi-town, the still young chef is finally bringing his culinary chops back home.

A graduate of the Culinary Institute of America, Ragano has an eclectic style that blends classic French training with Italian and Spanish influences. Now stationed back in proximity to his Big Apple beginnings, Ragano is at once eager to reconnect with his roots and explore the New York dining scene. And Ragano brings a diversity of influences to the kitchen, attenuated to the style of the Grand Hyatt’s New York Central. His diverse menus are inspired by the flavors of Western Europe, with dishes emphasizing house-made pastas, locally sourced products, and house-made charcuterie.
