Rising Star Chef Caleb Shriver of Dutch & Company - Biography
For Oklahoma native Caleb Shriver, food has always been a way to bring people together. He has fond memories of helping his mother in the kitchen, igniting a fascination with food. After completing a culinary apprenticeship program with Chef Kurt Flieschfresser at The Coach House in Oklahoma City, Shriver headed to Chicago, landing at Otom in Chicago, and then the Sugar Toad in Naperville, Illinois. In 2010, Shriver began working at Aziza's in Richmond. He later met Perrow who was working at Acacia. The two began looking for a restaurant space and ended up renovating a former Laundromat in the Church Hill neighborhood. Dutch & Company opened in 2012, helping revive their immediate neighborhood and put Richmond on the national culinary map. In 2014, Shriver and Perrow earned a StarChefs Rising Star Chef Award for their work.
