I tend to be a bit of an eclectic cook and am always trying
new recipes. My favorite cuisines are: Italian, Mexican,
and Cajun/Creole. I also love Chinese, but must confess
that a lot of the subtle nuances of REAL Chinese cuisine
escape me at the moment....but I'm working on it!! :)
Because of the wide-ranging diversity in my home cooking,
I have it necessary to keep on hand only the most versatile
of ingredients, such as:
--Boneless chicken breasts
--Eye of round roasts
--Dry cocktail sherry
--Tons of garlic!!
--dry goods....flour, sugar, cornmeal, cornstarch, etc.
--dried foods...sundried tomatoes, dried porcini mushrooms, etc.
--a good olive oil as well as peanut or canola oil
--soup stocks, broths
--and a little bit of schmaltz, for that extra special touch.
