I have a feeling that, regardless of whether or not GM products are actually dangerous, the future of GM will be guided by corporate concerns about consumer concerns, i.e. if there's an uproar or a drop in sales, corp.s will stop using GM, science aside...

: My view is the uproar over biotechnology and genetically modified will continue, and that's unfortunate. People are reacting without fully understanding wht it's all about. Biotechnology is not a threat to organic farming. It is an opportunity to improve conventional farming. We have the ability to reduce our reliance on pesticides and fertilizers. We have the tool to produce higher crop yields and more nutritious foods for the rapidly expanding population. For humanitarian reasons, it would be unethical not to use our knowledge.
