no respect for the chefs

I'm going crazy,because the customers in Germany(and central Europe)really often think the waiter is doing the meal.Fortunally I work now for a private household,where we (2 chefs) get the respect for our work.
In restaurants it's really like the customers look at you in a strange kind of way,but never ever would tip the kitchen crew.BUT the meal was really greaaaat-
they'll tell the service.And I tell you I am not (100%)
jealouse for the money/tip.
