Make a phone call...PLEASE!

At 8:57 pm, last night,(our place closes at 9:00 pm) a party of 8 walkedin with no reservation or phone call and promptly made themselves athome. We had had a slow night to begin with and there were no othercustomers in the restaurant at the time. So, we were on a skeleton staffas it was, and we all had to stick around an extra 3 hours while thesemen dawdled over ordering, sent back three bottles of wine, talked forfifteen minutes after their appetizers were served and then complainedthey were cold, dawdled over dinner, ordered lengthy specialty coffeesand countless double espressos. Yes they spent money, but by stayingopen an extra three hours, after food cost and staff and operatingexpenses our net profit was about $3.00. Was it worth it? NO! All I askis that if you are a large party of 6 or more, please take the time tomake a reservation( even it is is early in the evening and you arecoming later) or call the place and tell them you are coming. Likewise,if you are in a large party, please dont call an hour before you arescheduled to "" things(seating, time...etc) We have already planned ournight and set up our tables.There, I feel better!
