I agree. Up until 8 years ago, I just clocked in &
out and left work counting my tips.I started Culinary school and went to work at one of the busiest and best restaurants in Boca Raton, Fla.
I worked with a Chef who tought me so much about "the love for food". Many servers thought he was mean and didn't appreciate who he was. He tought me how to sell his dishes and to be proud and honest to the guests. I started to make so much money I couldn't believe it. We had to know all of the ingredients and how it was prepped or we went home! I still have many friends working there, although the Chef works somewhere else in the company, but we all still talk about him. i know
some servers are new and they might not know everything, but you wouldn't sell a house or car to somebody without knowing everything there was!
