I suspect this is a situationwhere the restaurants take advantage of the consumer. Most of the time,the specials consist of in season items that are attractively priced. Agood chef can` resist using an item that is probably at it` best. He mayor may not be responsible for the pricing of the final dish. Either way,the customer loses. The restaurant is banking on the customers notmaking a fuss and embarrassing themselves The. only way to solve theproblem is to bury your embarrassment and speak up. The restaurants needto know that this practice is unacceptable. If everyone stops orderingthe over priced specials, they will go away.
