StarChefs About Us

Patti Greaney, Founder

Before starting StarChefs, Patti Greaney produced hundreds of commercials, music videos, award-winning PSAs, short films, documentaries, and most recently a feature film entitled Dinner Rush

Patti moved into production in 1983 as a freelance producer on various film projects. She often worked with the award winning film production company, Giraldi Suarez Productions. Soon she was invited to be on staff and was eventually named one of its executive producers.

While continuing with her executive producing duties, in 1994 Ms. Greaney opened the New Media division of Giraldi Suarez Productions. With the launch of StarChefs, a highly acclaimed Internet site, the company hit the ground running. StarChefs has won a silver award for best Internet periodical at the Invisions Awards sponsored by New Media Magazine. It was chosen by Microsoft, US News & World Report and Brill's Content as one of the top five food sites on the Internet. StarChefs has been featured in the New York Times, USA Today, Bon Appétit, Gourmet Magazine, Food Arts, Brand Week, and nationally on CNN.

Ms. Greaney's background is in photography. She studied fashion photography at the Fashion Institute of Technology. In the late 1970s, she was an assistant editor of documentaries at Cinema Arts in New York.

In 1991, she produced and co-directed with Bob Giraldi a documentary for The New York Women's Foundation. She later had her solo directing debut with a short narrative film, Lost Art. This film won a silver plaque at the 1993 Chicago International Film Festival and a silver medal at the New York Festival for International Media.

Ms. Greaney went on to produce Dinner Rush. Directed by Bob Giraldi. This fictional feature length film about a father son relationship set in the milieu of 'Behind the Scenes' in a restaurant was chosen by Museum of Modern Art for their New Films/New Director's Series and played to sold out crowds at festivals winning Audience Awards across the USA.

Patti continues to be active at StarChefs while developing various film and video projects for theatrical and broadband distribution.
