Yield: 6 servings
Sweet, rich and seductive, hot chocolate made with creamy white
chocolate is an elegant drink to sip on frosty mornings. This recipe
makes six steaming cups; you can reduce the amounts for fewer servings.
White chocolate is more heat sensitive than dark chocolate and must be
cooked very gently.
- 6 cups whole milk
- 9 ounces white chocolate, finely chopped
- 2 tablespoons pure vanilla extract
- Whipped cream for garnish (optional)
In a medium saucepan, heat the milk to simmering over medium heat. Lower
the heat to medium-low and stir in the chocolate and vanilla. Cook until
hot but not boiling, stirring frequently. Remove the pan from the heat
and pour into mugs. Top with whipped cream, if desired.
