Wine Tips from Featured Sommelier Caroline Styne, Lucques and AOC, Los Angeles
1. Don't be afraid to ask for advice. My list has so
many tiny producers that many people don't know. Many people are just
too worried about asking for help - whether it's due to shyness or feelings
of inadequacy - but that's what I'm there for. I just tell them to ask
me. I love talking about these great little wineries!
2. Try something new. So many people are stuck on their usual Chardonnay
or Merlot. There are so many wines to taste and regions to explore.
That's the beauty of the winelist and format at AOC. A person can taste
so many different wines in one sitting and break themselves from their
wine rut.
3. Don't forget the rosé. Rosés are perfect summer wines
and make a great start to an evening.
