Women in the Kitchen, Chefs in the News
It's no secret that women are underrepresented in the professional culinary industry, but despite the large number of female chef-centric articles currently in the news, little new data has emerged to support the typically cited reasons why. Is the professional kitchen still a boys club where women are made to feel unwelcome? Are the hours and stresses of the industry truly out of sync with a womens' life goals? Do female chefs really cook with more soul, allowing them to be easily trounced by a bottom-line driven industry?

StarChefs.com is currently exploring gender differences in the professional kitchen in preparation for several editorial features. As StarChefs readers and members of the industry, your insights, opinions, and ideas are an invaluable resource; we hope that you will share your experiences with us.

By taking this survey, you agree to allow StarChefs to use your anonymous or attributed responses in up coming articles on StarChefs.com.

Thank you!
