ICE also offers an astounding array of classes for alumni/ae seeking additional professional development. New for the 2008/2009 year is the Center for Food Media - the only program of its kind offered currently in the country. In response to the enormous surge in popularity of such mediums such as food styling, writing, blogging, podcasting, photography, marketing and food economics, ICE is now offering education in all forms of food media. Participants are able to explore all of the above topics and more, while learning from top figures in the media world. Upcoming speakers include James Beard Award nominee author Michael Ruhlman, Food and Wine editor-in-chief Dana Corwin, and Food Network vice president of culinary relations Susan Stockton.
Additionally, ICE offers a Center for Advanced Pastry Studies (CAPS), another program unique to ICE. Taught by world-renowned experts, the program is only for those students with previous professional experience who want to advance their skills by learning complex techniques from the best pastry chefs in the industry.
