Better Burger in Hell's Kitchen is now closed. No word yet on the 9th Avenue space's next incarnation.
Chef Jason Neroni (New York Rising Star Award Winner 2009) has left 10 Downing in an amicable parting.
Mathieu Palombino, an owner of the Williamsburg pizzeria Motorino, is opening a second location in Manhattan's East Village. He will be taking over the restaurant space and Italian brick oven of Anthony Mangieri, owner of
Una Pizza Napoletana.

The New York City Parks department has awarded Dean Poll, the operator of the Central Park Boathouse, the contract to run Tavern on the Green. Poll plans to "restore" the building, update the landscaping, and feature an approachable American menu.

Restaurateur Ken Friedman has closed The John Dory, his months-old seafood restaurant. He plans to re-open, but no word yet where or when.
Blackbird restaurant announces a new pastry chef for the restaurant,
Patrick Fahy.? Fahy, who hails from French Laundry, already has a new menu
of desserts on the menu at Blackbird.
Terry Alexander, Paul Kahan and Peter Garfield (of The Publican and The Violet Hour) have taken over Wicker Park's old Pontiac Cafe space and plan to turn it into an as-yet-unnamed taqueria.

Joachim Splichal, chef and founder of Patina, has selected Tony Esnault as executive chef of his flagship restaurant. Esnault has worked at Auberge d'Ill in Alsace, Louis XV in Monaco, and was the opening chef at Adour in New York.
Restaurateur Marios Michalakis (Alfredo's Restaurant in Quincy),
Emilios Ventouris (Emilios Pizza in the South End), along with
Executive Chef Tony Lucci (Cedar's Steakhouse, Foxwoods) have opened Sofia Italian Steakhouse in West Roxbury. The menu will feature old-world favorites and modern interpretations of regional delicacies.
Daniel Stern, chef-owner of Gayle, has closed his restaurant on South Third Street.
Amuse, a concept developed by Andy Alibakhsh of Apres Diem in partnership with Arnaud Michel of Buckhead's Anis Café & Bistro is coming to the former Allegro space late this month.
