December 3, 2011 the DC Craft Bartenders Guild and Mixologists will be coming together to celebrate the 78th anniversary of the Repeal of Prohibition with the 4th annual Repeal Day Ball at the Halcyon House in Georgetown. Participants include 2006 DC Rising Star Mixologist Todd Thrasher and 2010 DC Area Rising Star Mixologist Gina Chersevani.

Chef Craig Hopson is leaving Le Cirque in January to open his own restaurant on the lower east side, likely not before Summer 2012.

Johnny Iuzzini has resigned as pastry chef at Jean Georges, and will be replaced by Joe Murphy, formerly the corporate pastry chef for Jean Georges Management. Iuzzini plans to step away from restaurant kitchens, possibly to study gelato and chocolate, while working on his next book. [via GrubStreet]
Graffiato Chef Mike Isabella has announced his plans for a new modern Mexican, small-plates restaurant in DC, called Bandolero. It is set to open in Georgetown in 2012.
Portland, OR restaurant Aviary, home to 2011 Portland Rising Stars Sarah Pliner, Jasper Shen and Kat Whitehead is set to reopen in early November. The restaurant is rebuilding after water damage caused by a fire. [via The Oregonian]
Portland, Oregon chef Andy Ricker has a wing joint in New York in the works for 2012. Not surprising, as his popular Portland restaurant Pok Pok began as a small wing shack before Ricker formed his culinary empire in PDX.
Ed Cotton has left New York's Plein Sud. He has plans for an eventual Mediterranean restaurant called Alfonsina [via Eater].
Tien Ho, known for his time at New York's Má P?che, has left the David Chang restaurant. Ho's sous chef Paul Carmichael will be fulfilling his duties.
John Ragan has taken a new position as Wine Director for the Union Square Hospitality Group. Master Sommelier Dustin Wilson from Aspen, Colorado's Little Nell and RN74 replaced him at Eleven Madison Park in October 2011.

2007 Atlanta Rising Star Chef Ford Fry announced this month that he will be opening a sustainable seafood restaurant featuring a wood oven called The Optimist in 2012.[via Access Atlanta]
Jeremy Miller has accepted a position as Executive Chef at STK Atlanta in Atlanta, Georgia, just a week after working his last dinner service at Bluepointe.
Pastry Chef Anthony Chavez is leaving 2941 to open his own bakery, Layered Cake Patisserie with wife Barbara Chavez.
