Les Halles in Penn Quarter closed this month after 15 years of service, reportedly due to the pressures of increased rent.
William McCormick has taken over the position of corporate chef at Eatwell DC, the restaurant management group responsible for Logan Tavern, Commissary, The Heights, and Grillfish.
Inox restaurant is set to open this month in Tysons Corner. Executive Chefs and Co-Owners Jon Mathieson and Jonathan Krinn have been working together since 2005, when the two met in the kitchen of 2941 Restaurant.

Craig Hopson is moving from One if by Land, Two if by Sea to become executive chef at Le Cirque.
Morton's The Steakhouse will open its new Brooklyn location this month, making it the second in New York and 80th in the world. The main dining room will seat 150, and the boardroom can accommodate up to 125 for conferences.
Chris Lee, 2007 New York Rising Star and chef at Gilt, is leaving to take over the kitchen at Aureole at the close of the year. With his ease creating high-end food, Lee will be a great asset to Aureole. No word yet where Tony Aiazzi, current Aureole chef, is headed next.
Brothers Mark and Brian Canlis, the third generation to operate the eponymous Canlis Restaurant, announced the hire of Jason Franey, who will transition into the executive chef's position Dec. 1. Franey, has been the executive sous chef at Eleven Madison Park in New York since January 2006.
Restaurateur Linda Derschang and chef Ericka Burke of Volunteer Park Cafe are opening Oddfellows Cafe and Bar in the historic century-old Oddfellows building. The new cafe will follow the successful model set by their previous venture, featuring long hours and simple but delicious food and drink.
2004 Los Angeles Rising Star chef Troy Thompson has left his post at The Kress, the multi-level nightclub and restaurant in the historic Kress building. No word yet on Thompson's next project, but his vigor and creativity guarantee that whatever it is, it will be exciting.
Nathan Whiting has been named the new Executive Chef of the Mobil 5 Star Woodlands Resort and Inn in Summerville South Carolina. The long-time Chef de Cuisine is taking over for Tarver King, who is returning to his native Virginia as Executive Chef at the Goodstone Inn in Middleburg.
Tallulah's owner Matt Fisher and his executive chef Troy Graves are again teaming up to open their new restaurant, Eve. This new venture will be slightly more formal than Tallulah, but still aims at the casual-chic crowd. Eve opened for lunch October 27, and will open for full lunch and dinner service in the first week of November.

2007 San Francisco Rising Star Seiji Wakabayashi is opening a casual bistro version of Bushi-tei in Japan Center this winter. His new venture, bushi-tei bistro, will complement its more formal sibling's menu with pared-down, affordable fare that still adheres to Wakabayashi's aesthetics.
