LA Rising Stars Host Chef Gregg Wangard has left the Loews Santa Monica Beach Hotel for the kitchens of Marisol in the Cliffs Resort at Shell Beach.

Patina Restaurant Group has announced that Peperfish, a contemporary seafood spot, will open in the coming weekes in Beverly Hills. Chef Yianni Koufodontis, fomerly of the group's Kendall's Brasserie, is in the kitchen.
Star Chef David Myers, chef / owner of Sona, has opened Comme ?a with chef de cuisine Michael David in the kitchen. Chef David will execute a modern French brasserie menu.
Bastide, former home of StarChefs.com Rising Star Chef Ludovic Lefebvre, has reopened after renovations?with a new chef, Walter Manzke.
StarChef Michael Richard will design the menu and train the chefs for Citrus at Social Hollywood, located in Jeffrey Chodorow's forthcoming entertainment complex. Michael Richard was the former chef of Citrus in the 80s.

Peter Eco, previously in the kitchen at Clio with StarChef Ken Oringer, is now Executive Chef of Stix Restaurant and Lounge.
Chef / restaurateur Barbara Lynch has opened Stir, a cookbook library, demo kitchen and seminar space in Boston.
blu, home to Rising Star Pastry Chef Lynn Moulton, has a new chef: Michael Kraus. Former chef Tom Fosnot has moved to Rocca, blu's sister kitchen.

Chef Michael Schlow will open a second branch of his Alta Strada at the soon-to-be-built MGM Grand at Foxwoods Resort Casino opening spring.
Chef Anthony Mazzotta, formerly of Toro, has been named executive chef of Sasso, in Boston's Back Bay neighborhood.

Dallas - Chef John Tesar is back in the kitchen at The Mansion on Turtle Creek which had been under renovations for several months.
Miami - David Bouley Evolution, located in the Ritz-Carlton South Beach, has closed. It will reopen in the coming months as David Bouley at South Beach, with a more casual design and a menu similar to his Upstairs restaurant in New York.
Marc Ehrler, Miami Rising Stars Host Chef 2004, has moved from The Loews Hotel Miami Beach to the group's Vantana Caynon property on Arizona.
Scottsdale, AZ - Chef Ryan Poli, formerly of Chicago's Butter, has opened MiMo in Scottsdale. This is his first position as executive chef / owner.
Las Vegas - Mario Batali and Joe Bastianich have annoucned plans to open a steakhouse in the Palazzo Las Vegas. CarneVino is planned to open at the end of the year.

Rising Star Chef 2006 Zak Pelaccio has annoucned plans to open a second edition of his Malaysian restaurant Fatty Crab with partner Rick Camac. The restaurant will open in the spring in the former Zen Palate space with Restaurateur Jeffrey Chodorow as an investor.
Parea, Michael Symon's modern Greek restaurant, has been reimagined as Kellari's Parea by Chef Gregory Zapantis. He and his partner Stavros Aktipis also own Kellari's Taverna.
Rising Star Hotel Chef 2007 Doug Psaltis has left Country, Geoffrey Zakarian's restaruant in the Carlton Hotel. Chef Psaltis has hinted at plans to open his own dining room.
Brian Bistrong, former executive chef of the Harrison, will open his own restaruant with ex-Harrison manager John Paul O'Neill in the West Village.
Chef Craig Bero, owner of the nostalgic Soda Shop, has opened the Cosmopolitan Cafe, a three-meal restaurant, in the Cosmopolitan Hotel on West Broadway.
Chefs Allison Vines-Rushing and Slade Rushing, foremerly of Jack's Luxury Oyster Bar and Longbranch in Louisiana, and currently of Dirty Bird to Go, have opened their second New York City restaurant, Mila, named for Mississippi and Lousiana.
Didier Virot, former chef of FR.OG, has been named the Executive Chef of the Palm Court at the new Plaza Hotel, which opens in December. His menu will be a melange of modern and classic French preparations.
Rising Star NYC Will Goldfarb will launch a new dessert menu at the Michel Cluizel chocolate cafe in ABC Carpet and Home in December.
StarChef Todd English is behind the as-yet-unnamed restaurant in Gild Hall, the new financial district property by the Thompson Hotel Group. The menu will feature English comfort food in a warm, clubby atmosphere.

Restaurateur Danny Abrams, owner of the East Village's Mermaid Inn the the recently openend Smith's, has opened a second Mermaid on the Upper West Side. Laurence Edelman, formerly of Barbuto, is the executive chef.
Cindy Smith, a partner of Raoul's, and Danny Abrams, owner of the Mermaid Inn, have partnerd to open Smith's, a seasonally-based, American-European restaurant. The chef is Pablo Romero, formerly of Bouley.
Bruce and Eric Bromberg, brothers and partners in the Blue Ribbon empire, have opened a new restaurant, Blue Ribbon Sushi Bar and Grill, on Manhattan's west side. The seventh Blue Ribbon is in the new 6 Columbus hotel.
Adam Shepard, chef / partner of Brooklyn's Lunetta, has opened a second location in Manhattan, taking over the former Mayrose space.

Chef/owner Michael Carlson's Schwa has closed.
The Peninnsula Hotel's Avenues will close for the month of January during renovations to the hotel's The Lobby restaurant. During The Lobby's makeover the Avenues' space will feature The Lobby menu.
Belinda Chang, former corporate wine director for Cenitare Restaurants, has left for New York to run the wine program at Danny Meyer's The Modern, inside MOMA.

Atlanta
Hilary White, formerly of Buckhead Life restaurant group and the company's first female executive chef, has left to join restaurateur Steve Nygren (of the Peasant Corporation) to operate The Hil at Serenbe just south of Atlanta. The restaurant is part of a bed and breakfast community that has grown in the area, and local farmers will provide the majority of chef White's ingredients.
Beleza, which means "beautiful" in Portuguese, opened in Midtown under the leadership of owner Riccardo Ullio, who also owns Sotto Sotto and Fritti. Michelle McKenzie will be the executive chef.
