Rising Star Mixologist?Jason Kosmas and partners will not open Zeppelin on Nineth Street as planned.?The restaurant, with Chef Keith Harry, formerly of Chanterelle, is currerntly searching for a new space.
Nicole Kaplan, pastry chef of Eleven Madison under Kerry Heffernan and most recently Executive Pastry Chef of Del Posto, has left her position.
Pichet Ong, NY Rising Star 2005, will add Batch, a retail bakery, to his P*ONG storefront this spring.
New York Rising Star Chef Akhtar Nawab, executive chef of the EU, will open a second restaurant, named after his daughter Ellette, in 2008. Chef Nawab will continue to work as the EU's executive chef.

Former Eleven Madison Park and Hudson Yards Catering Chef Kerry Heffernan will open South Gate in February in The Essex House. Heffernan's restaurant will be in a newly built space, not the former Alain Ducasse restaurant.
Peter Serpico has been confirmed as the opening chef for David Chang's Ko, arriving this spring in the original Momofuku Noodle Bar space. NY Rising Star Zak Pelaccio is the consulting chef of Chop Suey, the new restaurant in the Renaissance New York Hotel. The kitchen, formerly Foley's Fish House, will be run by Chef Anthony Paris.
John Fraser, formerly of Compass, has opened a Dovetail in a townhouse on Manhattan's Upper West Side.
John B. Shields, formerly of Alinea and Charlie Trotter's, and Karen Urie, former pastry chef at Charlie Trotter's have left Chicago to revamp the Town House Grill, a fine dining restaurant in rural Chilhowie, Virginia.
Brian Jupiter, former chef of Bella Lounge, has been named the executive chef of La Pomme Rouge. He replaces Jeffrey Mauro.

Curtis Duffy, former Chef de Cuisine of Alinea, is leaving the Lettuce Entertain You Restaurant Group to take Graham Elliot Bowles' executive chef spot at Avenues in the Peninsula Hotel. Bowles is set to open his own restaurant in Chicago in Spring 2008. Duffy's menu will go into effect in April.

John Caputo, Executive Chef of BIN 36 and A MANO, can now add Wisconsin Cheese Chef Ambassador to his resume. He will feature cheese from Wisconsin's artisan cheesemakers on his menu in 2008.
Steven Starr's Washington Sqaure, whose kitchen was onced helmed by Marcus Samuelsson, has closed for renovations. It will reopen under a new name later this year with a new menu.
Under chef / owner Christine Fischer, Astral Plane has be relaunched as Astral Plane Millennium.

The newly named Hotel Vertigo (currently the York Hotel), opening summer 2008, will be the site of Tyler Florence's new restaurant. Chef Florence, famous for consulting at Applebee's and his FoodTV programs, will serve a locally focused American menu.
Las Vegas - MGM Mirage's CityCenter will be the site of the third Mr. Chow's restaurant. LA and NYC restaurateur Michael Chow is set to open his fourth restaurant in the fall of 2009.
Las Vegas - Matthew Silverman of the Vintner Grill in Las Vegas has been named a Wisconsin Cheese Chef Ambassador for 2008.
Dallas - Six notable chefs from around the nation are bringing their distinctive regional styles to the Wisconsin Cheese Chef Ambassador program of including Kent Rathbun of Abacus Restaurant in Dalls, Texas.
VILLANOVA, PA - Brothers Patrick and Terence Feury will collaborate for the first time to open Maia, a two-story restaurant, café and gourmet food market in March 2008.

Terence, former the executive chef at The Grill at Ritz Carlton and Striped Bass in Philadelphia, and Patrick, most recently of Nectar, are co-chefs and owners with partner Scott Morrison. The menu will feature an East Coast-centric blend of Alsatain and Scandinavian dishes.

Jerome Grilhot, former chef of Au Pied de Cochon at the InterContinental Hotel Buckhead, is now the executive chef of Midtown's Eno. Rising Star Hugh Acheson of Five & Ten in Athens, Georgia has opened The National, a restaurant that focuses on "snackies" and Mediterranean-influenced small dishes.

Acheson's partner Peter Dale, longtime executive sous of Five & Ten, is the chef de cuisine and partner Chris Luken, also of Five & Ten, is behind the bar.
New York restaurateur Jonathan Morr has opened a branch of his Bond St. in L.A. NY-based Sushi Chef Hiroshi Nakahara will oversee the restaurant, located in the new Thompson Beverly Hills hotel.

Chef Bissonnette will spend the year cooking with Wisconsin Cheese, adding some of his new dishes to the KO menu.
