The Federalist, The XV Beacon Hotel, has renovated its restaurant, The Federalist, into a steakhouse. The new restaurant, named Mooo, will retain Dave Hutton as chef de cuisine.

StarChef Patricia Yeo has left her executive chef position at Sapa to focus full-time on her new venture, the re-design of Monkey Bar. Gavin Portsmouth, Yeo's current Chef de Cuisine, will take over Sapa's kitchen. Rising Star Chef Josh DeChellis has opened a tempura restaurant called Barfry in Manhattan's West Village.
Chef Laurent Tourondel has announced plans to open a fifth branch of his BLT empire. BLT Soho will become the anchor restaurant in the forthcoming Trump SoHo, a hotel and condo developement slated for 2009.
Alain Ducasse has announced plans to turn the former La Cote Basque space into Benoît Bistro New York in early 2008. The New York outpost will be modeled after it's Parisian counterpart.
