Boston Rising Star Dante?deMagistris, chef owner of Dante with brothers Damiena?and Filippo, announced plans to open Fire House,?a rustic Italian restaurant in a renovated?fire station, in?early 2008.

The Federalist, The XV Beacon Hotel, has renovated its restaurant, The Federalist, into a steakhouse. The new restaurant, named Mooo, will retain Dave Hutton as chef de cuisine.

StarChef Patricia Yeo has left her executive chef position at Sapa to focus full-time on her new venture, the re-design of Monkey Bar. Gavin Portsmouth, Yeo's current Chef de Cuisine, will take over Sapa's kitchen.
StarChefs.com Rising Star Chef Josh DeChellis has opened a tempura restaurant called Barfry in Manhattan's West Village.
Chef Laurent Tourondel has announced plans to open a fifth branch of his BLT empire. BLT Soho will become the anchor restaurant in the forthcoming Trump SoHo, a hotel and condo developement slated for 2009.
Alain Ducasse has announced plans to turn the former La Cote Basque space into Benoît Bistro New York in early 2008. The New York outpost will be modeled after it's Parisian counterpart.
Anne Burrell, former chef of Italian Wine Merchants, has been named chef of Centro Vinoteca, a trattoria in the West Village.
Chef Laurent Tourondel of the BLT family of restaurants (Steak, Prime, and Fish) will open BLT Market this month at the Ritz-Carlton New York Central Park. The restaurant will specialize in dishes made from local organic and artisanal ingredients.
Rising StarChef Alex Urena has announced plans to close his eponymous restaurant in late August. It will reopen in the fall as a casual bistro-style restaurant to be named Pamplona.

StarChef Anita Lo, executive chef of Annisa and Rickshaw Dumpling Bar in the Flatiron, has announced plans to open a casual Asian barbecue spot, to be named Q, sometime in November.

The Trump International Hotel & Tower Chicago will welcome Executive Chef Frank Brunacci when its kitchen open in September.
Chef / owner Stephanie Izard will close her Mediterranean spot Scylla in August.

Edward Roszak, former mixologist of Cuchi Cuchi in Cambridge,Massachusetts, opens his own restaurant in Los Angeles, FuZen Sushi Cafe. He will serve Japanese and European fusion cuisine.

Dahlia Narvaez, formerly of Campanile and Jar, has been named pastry chef of Osteria Mozza, the collaboration of chefs and restaurateurs Nancy Silverton, Mario Batali, and Joseph Bastianich.
Chef de cuisine Matt Accarrino and pastry chef Catherine Schimenti of Craftsteak New York have moved to the newest branch of Executive Chef Tom Colicchio's empire: Craft Los Angeles.

Chef Laurent Gras, formerly of the Fifth Floor in San Francisco, is currently the consulting chef at Tru in Illinois. He has announced plans to open his own restaurant with the Lettuce Entertain You group in the fall.
2007 Rising Star Chef James Syhabout has left PlumpJack Cafe has moved Manresa in Los Gatos.Sous-chefs Kit Callahan and Tyson Greenwood will oversee the kitchens of PlumpJack until a new executive chef is found.

Miami - Chef Gerdy Rodriguez, who worked with South Florida trailblazing StarChef Norman Van Aken in Coral Gables and then went on to create his own personalized elevated Latin fusion cuisine at Miami's Mandarin Oriental, will soon make a move to The Biltmore, Miami.

Dallas - Joel Harrington, former executive chef of Ritz-Carlton Laguna Niguel, has relocated to the Ritz-Carlton Dallas. He has been named the chef de cuisine at Dean Fearing's restaurant, Fearing's.
