Chef Rock, Hell's Kitchen Winner, Takes Skills To The Classroom At Stratford University

Falls Church, Va.(1/12/10) - He may not yell like Gordon Ramsay, but he sure has the skills to help mold and push the next chefs in America. Rahman "Chef Rock" Harper, the season three winner from Hell's Kitchen, is headed back to school, but this time as an instructor, where he will be leading culinary classes at Stratford University.

"I'm excited to get the opportunity to help turn the heat up in the kitchens at Stratford University," says Chef Rock, celebrity chef and adjunct culinary instructor at Stratford University. "The last couple of years have provided me with amazing opportunities and experiences and it's great to be able to share those with others who are eager to get into the field."

Chef Rock will be leading a variety of classes in the culinary arts department that cover all aspects of managing food preparation and head chef duties. His experience has been vast and exciting, including opportunities that most chefs aspire to. Chef Rock beat out countless other applicants to be chosen for a position on season three of the popular show "Hell's Kitchen," where he went on to win the top position. Finishing top chef put him in a year-long head chef position at the upscale Terra Verde restaurant inside the Green Valley Ranch, Resort and Spa, in the Las Vegas area.

In addition to taking his skills to the classroom at Stratford University, he is working on a new television show and has a new book that will be due out this year.

"I hope that by being in the classroom I can share everything that I have learned and help others reach their goals," adds Chef Rock. "Hard work and perseverance has helped me reach my goals. I hope to inspire others with my experiences and skills."

Stratford University offers both degree and non-degree culinary arts and hospitality courses. Culinary degrees include baking and pastry arts, as well as advanced culinary arts. Students can also enroll in the advanced culinary arts professional diploma program. In addition, the school offers non-degree public one-day culinary courses covering such topics as beginner baking, knife skills, vegetarian cooking and cake decorating, as well as parent-and-child cooking.
