If you are having a hard time recruiting a full-time position, consider hiring two part-timers. It is usually much easier to find people seeking part-time positions, and down the road you may be able to hire one on full-time as schedules change.

3. JobFinder Online Classifieds Posting Tip

Online job ads have more potential for attracting job seekers because there is room for more description than tiny ads in print classifieds. While adds should be descriptive in your job posting, try not to be wordy. Break up the ad into short paragraphs or use bullets to make it easier for online consumption.

4. CEO’s Dish: Marketing Your Company

To generate consumer interest as well as prospective employees, a company needs a defined image that is consistent in all marketing and promotional materials. Projecting a consistent image allows the public to become familiar with the company and the company to gain their trust. Besides traditional print and television advertisements (which can be quite expensive) here are some alternate avenues for inundating the world with your company image:

  • Provide free company apparel to your employees
  • Create a user-friendly company website

5. The StarChefs Rising Stars Scholarship Fund

StarChefs and the New England Culinary Institute (NECI) are pleased to offer a series of scholarships in conjunction with the StarChefs Rising Stars Revue™. These merit-based scholarships will be awarded to students and budding culinary professionals who demonstrate exceptional ability, motivation, and the potential to have a positive impact on the culinary field. 6. Participate in Restaurants Against Hunger - October 19, 2004

Since 2001, more than 100 restaurants in New York and surrounding areas have helped Action Against Hunger (AAH) by participating in Restaurants Against Hunger. On the night of the event, restaurants agree to donate a percentage of their profits to AAH. This year, restaurants in San Francisco, Washington, D.C., Los Angeles, Chicago, New York, and Boston are participating in this event, which is sure to be a win-win proposition for everyone involved.

  • The event will be held on a Tuesday night, typically a slow night for restaurants, in order to increase business on that day.
  • A minimum donation of 20% of sales for the night is requested in order to generate media coverage, provide high quality public relations for restaurants, and maximize donations for AAH.
