| 1. Interview Tip Employers sometimes make the mistake of talking more than listening
to an applicant during an interview. The interview is an applicant’s
opportunity to present himself to you, so give your applicants the opportunity
to talk. |

| 3. CEO’s Dish: Experience & Training When evaluating the experience necessary for a position, you have to weigh whether it is more effective to hire someone at a higher wage because they have experience or hire someone with less experience that you can train on the job. Previous experience will not guarantee employees will perform tasks in the manner you wish them to. In fact, many times employees will have to be de-programmed of their bad habits and re-trained to perform their tasks to your standards. Either way, training is a necessary part of running a business and should be standard procedure when hiring a new employee. Employees should be given an overview of all tasks they will have to perform, even the most mundane and obvious ones. |
