| 1. Participate in Restaurants Against Hunger October 19, 2004 Since 2001, over 100 restaurants in New York and surrounding areas have
joined Action Against Hunger in the fight against hunger by participating
in Restaurants Against Hunger—inviting customers to have dinner
in their establishments and donating a percentage of their profits to
AAH. This year, the event will take place in San Francisco, Washington,
D.C., Los Angeles, Chicago, New York, and Boston. The event will be a
win-win proposition for both participating restaurants and Action Against
Hunger.
A minimum donation of 20% of sales for the night is requested in order to generate media coverage, provide high quality public relations for restaurants, and maximize donations for AAH. | 5. CEO’s Dish: The Telephone Interview Interning gives people the opportunity to get career-related experience, often with top companies that may not be hiring or are looking for more experienced professionals. As an employer it benefits you to allow these people to volunteer as interns for a variety of reasons. Those who volunteer for internships are usually enthusiastic and eager to learn. During the internship period, you can evaluate their performance and decide whether or not to hire them. Aside from having this evaluation period your recruiting costs are reduced because you will have a pool of skilled interns from which to draw from for hiring purposes. Some common internship positions in restaurants are for chefs, line cooks,
prep staff, and pastry assistants. Examples of more unique intern positions
to consider are wine, marketing and public relations. |
