NY (February 28, 2003) - The talk of the town this month is the SOUTH BEACH WINE & FOOD FESTIVAL, and StarChefs brings you to the heart of the action. A stellar lineup of chef chats and demonstrations offers the opportunity to get up close and personal with some of the festival’s hottest chefs, three of who were recently chosen by StarChefs for its recent feature, Rising Stars Miami.
Like some sort of Iberian hurricane, Chef Angel Palacios has swept essential Spanish flavors across the Atlantic, landing at Miami Beach’s La Broche. Now that the storm has settled, it’s clear that this star has been heating up the Miami nights.
Chef Michael Reidt’s thirst for adventure and hunger for great food propelled him across the continent on a culinary sabbatical. Settling at Wish in Miami Beach, Chef Reidt can now be found weaving his newfound Brazilian knowledge into deliciously complex dishes.
Chef Willis Loughhead’s free-spirited cuisine has sparked hearts and romance in Miami; some say his specials are divinely inspired. After tasting his inventions, we believe it!
StarChefs is highlighting these three rising stars – and three top Star Chefs – at the StarChefs table at the South Beach festival. On Saturday, March 1, ask Marcus Samuelsson (Aquavit, New York) everything you’ve ever wanted to know about food, and then learn how to make the perfect foam with Angel Palacios (La Broche). On Sunday, have a cocktail with Michael Reidt (Wish, The Hotel) at his Brazilian drink tasting, and chat with Michele Bernstein (Azul, The Mandarin Oriental), the host of FoodTV’s Melting Pot. Later on, get the inside scoop on Norman Van Aken (Norman’s) new cookbook, New World Kitchen, and enjoy a vinegar apertif and food pairing with Willis Loughhead (Bizcaya Grill, The Ritz-Carlton, Coconut Grove).
The talks will take place at the StarChefs table (Table #149) in the Fine Living Network Grand Tasting Village - overlooking the Atlantic-framed white sand beach - at 10th Street and Ocean Drive.
