Mother's Day on StarChefs

Avenue's Hot Chocolate
Yield: 4 servings

Ingredients:
  • 1 quart whole milk
  • 4 ounces Valrhona cocoa powder
  • 1 1/2 ounces sugar
  • 6 ounces Valrhona chocolate, chunks
  • 1 Tablespoon homemade vanilla

Ingredients:
  1. Pour milk and cocoa into a saucepot, bring to a simmer and add sugar.
  2. Reduce heat to very low and add chocolate stirring occasionally until melted, about 3-5 minutes.
  3. Strain hot chocolate through a sieve and finish with vanilla. Hot chocolate can be topped off with homemade marshmallows or whipped cream.
