Yield: 1 Cocktail


Spiced Simple Syrup:
1 quart simple syrup
4 nutmeg seeds
4 sticks cinnamon
1 vanilla bean pod

To Assemble and Serve:
1½ ounces Sailor Jerry rum
½ ounce liquefied ginger
½ ounce fresh lime juice
1 ounce spiced simple syrup
1 ounce club soda
1 nutmeg seed
1 wheel candied Australian ginger


For the Spiced Simple Syrup:
Combine the syrup, nutmeg, cinammon, and vanilla bean. Let steep for 4 days. Strain and reserve.

To Assemble and Serve:
In a shaker, combine rum, ginger, lime juice, syrup, and ice. Shake and strain into a Pilsner glass filled with ice. Top with club soda. Garnish with grated nutmeg and the candied ginger.
