Food Festival

The South Beach Wine & Food Festival
is the ultimate culinary weekend event, offering a full schedule
of food and wine tastings, a celebrity chef dinner series,
and seminars from leading industry figures. This year’s
festival promises to be the best yet, with a stellar roster
of the country’s most renowned chefs, including a number
of our very own Star Chefs and Rising Stars!
This year, StarChefs is pleased to host
StarChefs Studio – A Kitchen Without Boundaries
during the American Express Trade Day on Friday, February
25. StarChefs Studio provides the most innovative chefs with
a collaborative environment to pass their knowledge on to
the star chefs of tomorrow.

Aficionado magazine for a glorious day on the
greens at the Biltmore
Hotel’s historic par-71 championship course.
The outing will feature food and drinks,
among them Grolsch beer and San Pellegrino water, along the
way and culminate in a gourmet Italian luncheon sponsored
by Italian food company Barilla. With top culinary masters,
several respected vintners and members of the Miami Dolphins,
Florida Panthers and Miami Heat sports teams on hand to add
a unique dimension of excitement to the ensuing play, the
jaunt combines all the ingredients for a perfect experience.

Exclusively for members of the trade and in appreciation of
the loyal customers of Southern Wine & Spirits of Florida,
this afternoon offers an excellent opportunity to sample some
of the world’s best wines, spirits, waters and coffee
as well as sample products from more than 50 Festival exhibitors
in a relaxed, casual atmosphere.
Star Chefs Studio Seminars:

"How to Make it"
Career Seminar:
Rising star chefs will appear with their celebrity chef mentors.
The protégés will discuss lessons learned from
their mentors, while the celebrity chefs will explain why
the protégés stood out in their kitchens. This
seminar gives chefs, cooks, and culinary students the opportunity
to learn how to advance their careers and to discuss the difficulties
and rewards of the industry. Panelists include: Norman
Van Aken and Jeffrey Brana of Norman's
- Coral Gables; Douglas Rodriguez and Jose
Garces of Alma de Cuba - Philadelphia; and
Daniel Boulud and Zach Bell
of Cafe Boulud - Palm Beach.
Meet the Masters:
Successes in the restaurant industry are few and far between,
but there are a handful of chefs and restaurateurs who have
established profitable business empires. They have expanded
upon the traditional restaurant business plan and have developed
multiple operations, cookbooks, and other consumer products,
all bearing a celebrity chef or restaurant brand name. During
this interactive discussion between leading restaurateurs,
participants will learn about the process of building and
marketing a winning brand. Panelists include Danny
Meyer of Union Square Hospitality Group, Drew
Nieporent of Myriad Restaurant Group, and Jeffrey
Chodorow of China Grill Management.
Master Sommelier Blind Tasting

the BubbleQ takes advantage of a playful setting—sand,
surf and stars—to showcase some seriously extraordinary

Dean Fearing, known as the Father of Southwestern Cuisine
and driving force behind the Mansion on Turtle Creek in Dallas
, leads a crew of grilling experts that includes some of the
most celebrated chefs in the country.
The festival will present the American Visionary
Award to South Florida’s own Norman Van Aken, a nationally
renowned chef and restaurateur (Mundo, Coral Gables, and Norman’s,
Coral Gables, Los Angeles, Orlando) and the much-lauded Father
of New World Cuisine, while everyone’s favorite foodie,
NBC Today Show host and cookbook author Al Roker, shares his
own barbecue know-how with guests.

The South Beach Wine & Food Festival presents its signature
event on successive afternoons. Sharing recipes and techniques
in the three KitchenAid Demonstration Tents will be chefs
and culinary personalities Emeril

English, to name just a few of the scheduled
all-stars, while at every turn the tastes of the good life
will flow freely.
Celebrated chef Jonathan
Eismann (Pacific Time, Miami Beach) on each day
hosts more than 75 of South Florida's finest restaurants,
all serving up generous tastings of their hot cuisine, while
some 150 participating wineries and spirit producers, among
them featured supplier Schieffelin
& Co, pour generous samples inside the two
Target Grand Tasting Tents.
In between indulgences, enjoy a crash
course in cocktail-mixing from the experts in the Fine Living
Cocktail Clinic, have a cookbook or two autographed by the
author while enjoying a cup of authentic Italian coffee in
the illy Café courtyard, relax your body and mind at
the Festival's Evian Oasis while you discover the natural
source of youth. Visit the Burdines-Macy's outlet for the
latest in kitchen gadgets and check out the official Festival
merchandise for sale.
Grand Tasting Village Weekend Pass

A fitting ending to a fabulous weekend, this poolside “last
hurrah” pits a dozen highly skilled bartenders against
one another as they compete to create the perfect Belvedere
Vodka cocktail. Las Vegas master mixologist Tony Abou-Ganim
and a bevy of celebrity judges pick the best, while everyone
else in attendance makes the tasting rounds and enjoys the gourmet
passed hors d’oeuvres.
