Show Has Been Rescheduled for October 22nd - 24th 2004
The Florida
Restaurant Show offers a comprehensive marketplace for foodservice
and hospitality industry professionals in the Southeast. This year
the show will host 600 exhibiting companies representing thousands
of products and services. Over 15,000 industry professionals will
attend the show, which will be held at the Orange County Convention
Center from October 22 - 24. This year’s featured speaker
is Frank W. Abagnale, of Catch Me if You Can fame.

2004 FRA Show Gala Party at Hard Rock Live 7:30 – 10:30 pm
Celebrate with Florida's restaurant industry leaders at
an exciting evening of networking, great food and fun at Hard Rock
Live. The evening will include the presentation of the 2004 Lifetime
Achievement Award to Jack and Claire Miller of Ale House Restaurants
and the 2004 Supplier of the Year Award to representatives from
Heartland Payment Systems. Enjoy live music and the sounds of the
Caribbean. Single tickets are $59 per person, which includes complimentary

Frank W. Abagnale, of Catch Me if You Can fame, will talk about
how to protect your organization from embezzlement, forgery, counterfeit
currency, check fraud, identity theft and Internet fraud. He will
discuss the latest sophisticated white-collar crime techniques made
easy by technology, as well as your organization's potential liability
under the new Uniform Commercial Code. Mr. Abagnale will also describe
ways to guard against check fraud and introduce the latest document
features, equipment, and banking tools to gain an edge in this costly

R.L. Schreiber's Apprentice/Junior
Member Florida State Championship
A four-person team event that incorporates practical and contemporary
cooking skills and hot-food cooking. Teams will develop and prepare
a four-course signature meal for four persons with appropriate garnishes.
Awards (cash prizes of up to $500 and team trophies) will be given
on Friday, September 10, directly following the competition.

Salute to Excellence Awards Luncheon and Keynote Address 11:30 am
Jack Miller, founder of Ale House
Restaurants, Inc., a Florida-based chain with over 35 units, will
give the Keynote Address. In addition, Florida's future foodservice

Land O'Lakes Hot Food
Competition
The competition is open to all chefs (ACF and non-ACF). Eighteen
(18) individuals will compete. Each competitor will be responsible
for creating four (4) portions of a signature recipe using Land
O’ Lakes products. Cash prizes, keepsake plaques and ACF Medals
will be awarded.
Laboratorio Tortellini
& Ciao Imports- Pasta Competition
Ten (10) individuals ACF and non-ACF chefs will develop a signature
pasta recipe. Cash Prizes and ACF medals will be awarded.

Pork Recipe
Hot Food Competition Sponsored by the Iowa Pork Board
Twenty (20) individual ACF and non-ACF chefs will develop a main

World-Class Culinary Competitions
Managed and organized by the American Culinary Federation (ACF)/Central
Florida Chapter (CFC) in conjunction with the Florida Restaurant
Association.
ShowTenders Bartending Competition
Local bartenders mix up the most unique and tasty energy competition.
Spectators will enjoy a variety of fun cocktails with the latest
flavors. Competitors vie for cash prizes based on showmanship, speed
and accuracy.
6th Annual Culinary Super
Challenge Team Competition
Sponsored by the Florida Beef Council, Land O’ Lakes, Jennie-O
& McIlhenny Tabasco, ACF and non-ACF Chef teams will be responsible
for creating four (4) signature courses: appetizer, soup or salad,
entree (must be made using beef) and dessert. Grand prize includes
a $15,000 cash prize and state-of-the-art Rational CPC Banqueting
System oven.
Chef's Table Luncheon, Sponsored
by Land O’ Lakes
Join us for a four-course surprise lunch served right on the show
floor. Tickets are $30 each. Lunch will be served at 12:30 pm, Friday,

Pastry Challenge
