The underlying theme of this year’s Congress is The Responsibility of a Chef, with a specific focus on mentoring, sustainability, and community. Chefs today have an unprecedented opportunity to effect change; special demonstrations, seminars, presentations, and panels will address these topics, and begin a dialogue on the role of a chef and the future of food.

The Venue

Park Avenue Armory is a one of New York's greatest treasures and landmarks. Located on Park Avenue between 66th and 67th Streets, in the heart of Manhattan's Upper East Side, the Armory was designated an exterior city landmark in 1986 and an interior landmark in 1994. The New York City Landmarks Commission has described the Armory's magnificent reception and company rooms, designed by leaders of the American Aesthetic Movement, as the single most important collection of 19th-century interiors to survive intact in one building. The 55,000-square foot Drill Hall measures approximately 200 by 300 feet, with an 80-foot high barrel vault and two levels of clerestories and remains one of the largest unobstructed interiors in New York City. In 2000, the Armory was named one of the 100 most endangered sites in the world by the World Monuments Fund, the only New York venue on the list. In 2006, the Conservancy for the Park Avenue Armory took over management of the building to restore, renovate and revitalize this landmark and open it to the public as a new arts space.

Products Fair

Leading manufacturers and purveyors from around the world showcase their products: high-end kitchen equipment, specialty foods, chef tools and wines. Attendees will have the opportunity to sample and learn more about hundreds of them.


Admission to the International Chefs Congress is limited to chefs, pastry chefs, mixologists and sommeliers currently employed in a restaurant and those working as/for food and equipment manufacturers, consultants, purveyors, publicists, architects, manufacturer representatives and dealers.
