Sugar-Coated Radical may be a tiny, bare bones shop on a side street in the Old Fourth Ward, but it offers big flavors and big talent. 2012 Atlanta Rising Star Community Chef Taria Camerino seduces her customers with a variety of hand-dipped chocolates, cadies, and treats, featuring fair trade chocolate, local produce, and sustainable packaging. And while she may be a classically French-trained pastry chef, there is nothing classic about Camerino. From her wild art installations and edible stickers, to her “emotions in a bottle,” Camerino is always working on something sweetly radical. And don't miss the Sunday morning pop-ups, featuring ethnic riffs on treats from Camerino's past—flaky creamed kale tarts, light and fluffy coconut cake, and chorizo-potato hand pies.
