After inheriting Northeast Kingdom from its owner (who built the funky, chunky wood and vinyl interior with his own hands), Chef Kevin Adey has worked hard at transforming it into a culinary destination, and an anchor of the growing neighborhood (stop by Kings County Distillery for some after-dinner moonshine). Adey’s food does the kind of smart, rustic American turns you’d expect of a Brooklyn outlier, with more than enough polish to assuage lost Manhattanites. Mixologist Brooke Hoffine keeps diners fortified for the journey home with a cocktail list steeped in fresh fruit, spices, and a lighter, naturalistic take on the boozy-bartending trend.
