Before the more grown-up Henri, 2011 Chicago Rising Star Chef Dirk Flanigan made his name with his downtown gastropub The Gage. Home to a lengthy whiskey list, vintage cocktails, and a seriously addictive onion marmalade- and Camembert-topped burger, the Millennium Park restaurant offers the ideal spot for a long, relaxing lunch. The art deco décor—restored tin ceilings, ornate gilded windows, and dark wooden beams—sets the tone for Flanigan’s menu of rich bar snacks (like Scotch eggs), Irish breakfast brunch, and surprising options like roast elk.
