The Whiskey Thatcher

Yield: 1 cocktail

INGREDIENTS:

1 lemon peel
4 mint leaves
½ ounce Campari
½ teaspoon powdered sugar
2 ounces Bulleit rye whiskey
½ ounce hibiscus-infused simple syrup
½ ounce fresh lime juice
Splash of soda water
¼ ounce Wild Turkey 101 rye whiskey
¼ ounce absinthe

METHOD:

Fill a sturdy rocks glass with hot water. In a cocktail shaker, muddle lemon peel, mint, Campari, and powdered sugar. Add whiskey, hibiscus simple syrup, lime juice, and mint. Shake vigorously until mint is muddled and then add soda water. Dump hot water from rocks glass. Coat glass with Wild Turkey and absinthe. Light the rinse on fire and burn off alcohol. Slowly pour whiskey mixture over the top with ice.
