Summer Hemingway: Plymouth Gin, Luxardo Maraschino Liqueur, Freshly Squeezed Grapefruit and Lime, and Fernet Branca Float

Yield: 1 Cocktail

INGREDIENTS:

1½ ounce Plymouth gin
1½ ounce freshly squeezed grapefruit juice
¾ ounce freshly squeezed lime juice
¾ ounce simple syrup
½ ounce Luxardo Maraschino Originale 32°
½ ounce Fernet Branca

METHOD:

Add the gin, grapefruit, lime, simple syrup, and Luxardo Marachino liqueur to a shaker. Use the Hard Shake technique (meaning to shake directly back and forth on one axis to in order to break down the ice in the shaker). Strain the liquid over large cube ice (2 inches x 2 inches) into a double old fashion glass (13 ounces). Using an upside down bar spoon, pour the Fernet Branca evenly over the top of the cocktail.
