(Los Angeles, CA; May 16, 2016)—On June 11th from 6-10 p.m., Patina Restaurant Group CoFounder and Master Chef Joachim Splichal partners with Rajat Shah from Delaware North to open up the patio at Café Pinot, the garden restaurant adjacent to the historic Los Angeles Public Library, for the inaugural “LA Feast & Fundraiser” benefiting the nonprofit organization, Rettsyndrome.org. The fundraiser will feature a reception style dinner with each of the participating culinary icons serving their best from stations set up around the lush Maguire Gardens that surround Cafe Pinot. A portion of the proceeds from the $300 ticket will benefit the Rett Syndrome Clinic at Children’s Hospital Los Angeles.

Splichal assembles some of the biggest chef talent in from the city and around the world for the occasion, with a lineup that includes visiting chef Sean Massey of Morimoto, and taps local Los Angeles talent Josiah Citrin of Mélisse and Charcoal Venice; Bruce Kalman of Union Restaurant and KNEAD & Co. pasta bar + market; Timothy Hollingsworth of Otium and Barrel & Ashes; Kris Morningstar of Terrine; Josef Centeno of Bäco Mercat, BAR AMÁ, and Orsa & Winston; Andreas Roller of Nick & Stef’s Steakhouse; Gregg Wiele of Patina Catering; Carlos Enriquez of Superba Food & Bread; Megan Logan from Café Pinot; and Monica May of Nickel Diner.

Sponsored beverages complement the extraordinary feast, with signature craft cocktails by Patina Restaurant Group Mixologist Evan Charest made from Tito’s Handmade Vodka and Hanger Vodka; champagne from Nicolas Feuillatte; wines from Au Bon Climat, Justin Vineyards, and Domaine De Cala; and waters selected by Patina Restaurant Group Water Sommelier Martin Riese, including Fiji Water and Solé Water.

The evening will benefit Rettsyndrome.org, the nonprofit organization accelerating research for treatments and a cure for Rett syndrome—a rare neurological disorder that occurs almost exclusively in infant girls and affects the way the brain develops, causing progressive inability to use muscles for movement and speech.

“The entire Rett community is so grateful to Chef Joachim Splichal and all of the extraordinary participating chefs for their talent and support. Having a group like this for our first West Coast event is sign of great things to come for our girls and the organization,” comments Shawn Huff, the event co-chair of LA Feast and Fundraiser and consultant for Rettsyndrome.org. “We hope the ‘LA Feast & Fundraiser’ brings us closer to giving our girls their voices back."

As a longtime supporter and active participant in many Los Angeles social-service and nonprofit organizations, Splichal is always willing to lend his voice and talents to those in need. Splichal says, “My heart goes out to the families affected by Rett syndrome—some of which are dear friends of mine. I am honored to be part of an event that will aid the organization in its quest for a cure.”
