New Montclair Restaurant Seeks To Reinvent The Avant-garde Dining Experience: Adara To Explore The Relationship Between Food, Art And Technology
MONTCLAIR, NJ (October 6, 2011) -- Food + Science = Adara, Montclair's newest and most innovative restaurant specializing in molecular gastronomy. Chef and owner, Tre Ghoshal, today announced the official opening of Adara will take place on Wednesday, October 12, 2011.
A chic, 65 seat BYO, Adara seeks to transcend the boundaries of the avant-garde dining experience while exploring the relationship between food, art and technology. Using molecular techniques, or the art of combining the chemical and physical processes that accompany cooking, the Adara kitchen will utilize cutting edge culinary methods including the use of immersion circulators, liquid nitrogen, the Anti-Griddle, the Smoking Gun, the centrifuge and more to transform ingredients into an epicurean odyssey.
"With the overall mystique of "edge cuisine" on the rise, Adara is our platform to showcase a progressive approach to postmodern dining," said Tre Ghoshal, chef and owner of Adara. "We will prepare unique fare that triggers an emotional response, inspires the soul and provokes you to think about food. In fact, many dishes will be presented in unorthodox compositions in which diners will receive instructions on how to eat the dish from our staff. Our goal is to create a space for curious and adventurous diners to participate in an interactive dining experience and become part of the modern food culture movement."
Adara's menu varies in size and price and offers diners the option of a la carte, three course prix fixe and five or seven course "Tour" selections. Additionally, Adara's signature "Grand Tour" menu allows diners to sample a comprehensive display of its many delicacies, including the white truffle envelope, smoking Hamachi and the bittersweet chocolate orb. Adara also provides an imaginative collection of composed, non-alcoholic mocktails, espresso drinks, "tea boutique" and a minibar prix fixe menu.
Chef Ghoshal has had experience in kitchens on both the east and west coasts. A graduate of the Art Institute of New York City and Humboldt State University, Arcata, CA, he began his career in 1994 working under highly acclaimed chef Joe Bastianich of FOX television's MasterChef. After years of study, research and working alongside several notables in the industry, he decided to open a venue that would serve as a catalyst to present a fascinating dining experience. He previously served as the executive chef at The Rotunda, at Neiman Marcus in Paramus, NJ, The Savoy Grille in Newark, NJ, Nouveau Sushi in Montclair, NJ and as Chef de Cuisine at The Eureka Inn, Eureka, CA. Chef is one of only 67 ACF certified Master Chefs in the United States. He draws inspiration from such masters of culinary innovation including Wylie Dufresne, Grant Achatz and Ferran Adri.
