Italian Cooking & Living: "la Dolce Vita" On Tv
After launching Italian Cooking & Living magazine, the Italian Culinary Institute engages in a new venture: an exciting weekly half-hour TV show on Italian cuisine and lifestyle also called Italian Cooking & Living. The TV show includes cooking demonstrations by renowned chefs, interviews with culinary and wine experts, entertaining historical anecdotes, reportages from Italy's most enchanting corners - in other words, it is a complete package of everything Italian.
Paolo Villoresi, Editor-in Chief of The Magazine of La Cucina Italiana and President of the Italian Culinary Institute, is the host of the show and entertains the audience both at home and at the Italian Culinary Center in NYC, where the show is filmed, with jokes and curiosities on Italian food and its historical and regional background.
"In recent years, the American public has shown a growing interest in Italian cuisine and culture," says Paolo Villoresi. "At the Italian Culinary Institute we promote Italian cuisine through gastronomic events that reach our audience throughout the United States. Our kitchen is located next door to our editorial offices, and our recipes represent the truest and boldest flavors of Italian cuisine expressed by the artistic skills of chefs and experts who prepare them five times a week, all year long."
Each episode of the show features a different chef that delights the audience with his or her culinary expertise and delicious, fast and easy recipes, as well as a sommelier who pairs each course with the perfect wine.
"What makes this show different from the others" -adds Paolo Villoresi - "is the history behind the food and the numerous culinary and cultural reportages from Italy, which include visits to typical Tuscan trattorie, cheese makers, a truffle hunt, and a stop at Juliet's famous balcony in Verona."
This exciting new show will be complemented by a website of the same name, italiancookingandliving.com, and Italian Cooking & Living, the bimonthly magazine of The Italian Table, a club for lovers of Italian food and culture. The magazine and the website will feature recipes and/or clips from the TV show, in-depth information on the week's topics, and much more.
Italian Cooking & Living, the TV Show, airs every Sunday at 2:30 pm premiering on June 3rd on WMBC-channel 63. This channel reaches more than 3.7 million TV households in Northern NJ, all five boroughs of New York, Westchester, Rockland and Orange County in NY and Pike County in Pennsylvania.
