Hakkasan Limited Appoint Omar Gutierrez As Vice President Of Restaurants For The United States
Hakkasan Ltd., the prestigious global dining and nightlife company, announced today that renowned hospitality executive, Omar Gutierrez, has been appointed as Vice President of Restaurants for the U.S. In his role, he will be responsible for overseeing the operations of the company's restaurants in Miami, New York, San Francisco, Las Vegas and the upcoming Beverly Hills, which opens Thursday, September 19.
Gutierrez comes to the role with 15 years of experience in the hospitality industry, having run some of the most successful brands in the restaurant and nightlife sectors in the United States. In addition, he has worked with the world's best chefs and restaurateurs, managed world-class restaurants and operated one of Las Vegas' largest food and beverage operations.

Gutierrez started his career at the Rio Hotel and Casino where he was part of the team that brought Las Vegas its first casino nightclub, first luxury rooftop lounge and the restaurant that legitimized Las Vegas as a dining destination. His success overseeing food and beverage operations at the hotel's Rio Secco led to his role as General Manager for Jean Louis Paladin's Napa, which was named by Bon Appetit Magazine as one of the nations best restaurants, and had one of the country's most valuable wine collections in "The Wine Cellar."
Following Rio Secco, Gutierrez was asked to take over operations of The Voodoo Lounge and Restaurant. There he was responsible for a multi-million dollar operation with live entertainment, an ultra lounge and a fine dining restaurant perched on the hotel's 51st floor. All of this experience eventually led to Gutierrez taking the GM spots at the House of Blues Foundation Room as well as Rick Moonen's flagship restaurant RM Seafood. In 2007, he accepted the position of Director of Food and Beverage at Mandalay Bay. There he worked with Charlie Palmer, Alain Ducasse, Hubert Keller and Michael Mina on their restaurants at the hotel. In addition to the fine dining restaurants, he oversaw the property's bars, lounges, nightclubs, pool operations, banquets, in-room dining and quick service divisions. Over the course of his tenure he opened new venues, re-positioned several outlets, and oversaw the food and beverage operations for the country's biggest sporting events and concerts.
Prior to joining Hakkasan Ltd., Gutierrez served as Executive Director of Operations for one of the global dining brand's partners, Angel Management Group, with general operational oversight of AMG's entire portfolio of venues, as well as responsibility for managing hotel and casino relationships on a food and beverage level.
