Christmas at Blithewold
Ranked by Yankee Magazine as one of the five best public gardens in New England, Blithewold, formerly home to the Van Wickle family, is a 45-room English-style manor mansion filled with family heirlooms, framed by a series of lovely gardens and arboretum on Narragansett Bay. During the holidays, beautifully hand-crafted ornaments and decorative embellishments transform each room into another era. This year, the Christmas theme, "Family Traditions" celebrates the Van Wickle family's love of music, theater, parlor games and unique holiday traditions. Outdoors, experience a new tradition in the making, Blithewold's Christmas Sparkle, held on Friday evenings, Nov. 29 through Dec. 27. Christmas Sparkle invites visitors to enjoy crackling bonfires, illuminated gardens, a variety of outdoor concerts, and cocoa and roasted marshmallows in the enclosed garden and greenhouse. Delight in Christmas at Blithewold Nov. 29 through Jan. 5, complete with afternoon teas, Santa sing-alongs, musical performances, and creative workshops.
Christmas at Linden Place Museum
Enjoy the charm and splendor of Christmas in Bristol at Linden Place Museum. Located in the center of downtown Bristol, the 1810 Federal period mansion was former home to American actress Ethel Barrymore Colt of "The Royal Family" of acting. The celebrations kick off Dec. 6 with an evening fundraising concert featuring local talent Michael DiMucci complete with wine and desserts, followed by the Clancy Legacy's annual Celtic Christmas Concert on Dec. 13 and reading of "A Christmas Carol" on Dec. 14. Linden Place Mansion and Museum store will be decked out for the holidays and open Tuesday through Saturday from 10 a.m. until 5 p.m., and Sundays from 12 p.m. to 5 p.m., Dec. 5 through Dec. 29. Admission during the holiday season is $10 for adults, $8 seniors and $6 for youths, with free admission for children under six.

Bristol's Annual Holiday Preview and Snowflake Raffle
On Nov. 22 and 23 from 5 to 9 p.m., the Bristol Merchants Association and Independent Galleries invite visitors to follow the festive lights from store to store for refreshments, entertainment and holiday gifts during Bristol's 12th Annual Holiday Preview. This celebration kicks off Bristol's most coveted winter event, the 5th Annual Snowflake Raffle,
