The Kellari Hospitality Group is pleased to announce the appointment of Chef George Mandakas of Lafayette NJ to the position of General Manager, Blue Olive Market. His unique combination of award-winning culinary talents paired with over twenty years of corporate scientific management experience will bring a new dimension to the vision and culture of this new concept marketplace eatery. Located at 210 E. 41st Street, The Blue Olive Market will be the first of its kind Greek and Mediterranean inspired gourmet marketplace/cafe/wine bar in Manhattan that will showcase traditional cuisine utilizing locally sourced products.

As a Chef, George has been recognized for his balanced and responsible use of modernist techniques and respect for traditional cuisine. Noted for his dynamic catering menus and Pop-Up restaurant events, his culinary influences will be evident throughout the prepared foods and products featured at the Blue Olive Market. In his managerial role, George will be responsible not only for coordinating the successful launch of the market, but developing both team and customer-based educational programs designed to showcase the health benefits and history of the Mediterranean Diet as well as the home use of the gourmet and artisanal products showcased in the market. Additionally, George will coordinate on-site programs and media based events promoting the markets culinary offerings, its philosophy towards healthy Greek and Mediterranean cuisine and its focus on interactive, consumer-based promotions.
